The impugned award in I.D.No.218 of 2006 dated 13.02.2017 passed by the first respondent is under challenge in the Writ Petition.

2. The petitioner is a Management and the second respondent / workman was dismissed from service for the charges of misbehavior with co-employee. Disciplinary action was initiated and after due enquiry, based on the Enquiry Officer's report, the charges being proved and the punishment of dismissal from service was imposed on the workman. The second respondent / workman filed an Industrial Dispute in I.D.No.218 of 2006 before the Labour Court and the Labour Court after considering the materials placed before it had directed the petitioner / Management to reinstate the second respondent / workman with continuity of service, 75% of backwages and other attendant benefits. At the time of admission, an interim stay of impugned award was passed by this Court on 23.03.2017.

3. Today when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Senior Counsel appearing for the petitioner / Management submitted that the matter has been amicably settled with the second respondent / workman and they are willing to compensate the second respondent with a sum of Rs.6,50,000/- (Rupees Six Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only) as full quit within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. Recording the same, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. 26.07.2023 NCC: Yes / No Index : Yes / No Speaking Order : Yes / No vji To The Presiding Officer, I Additional Labour Court, Chennai.
