ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the 1st respondent police to file a final report in the Crime No.5 of 2024 pending on the file of the 1st respondent-Police within a time-frame.

2. Heard the learned Counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the first respondent-Police and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner had already filed Crl.O.P.No.29256 of 2024, seeking to quash the F.I.R in Crime No.5 of 2024 pending on the file of the first respondent-Police. This Court, vide order dated, 31.01.2025 dismissed the said criminal original petition and also directed the respondent-Police to complete the investigation and file charge sheet within a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of that order. Even after completion of six months, the respondent-Police has neither completed the investigation, nor filed the charge sheet. Since the respondent-Police has not complied with the order of this Court passed in Crl.O.P.No.29256 of 2024, the petitioner is constrained to file this criminal original petition.

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent-Police submitted that investigation is under progress. He further submitted that numerous witnesses have to be examined in this case and hence, they are unable to complete the investigation within the stipulated time. He seeks further time to complete the investigation. 3/6

5. In view of the difficulties expressed by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent-Police, this Court is granting three months time to complete the investigation. The respondent-Police is directed to expedite the investigation and to file a charge sheet before the competent court on or before 31 st October 2025.

6. With the abovesaid direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.

7. List the matter on 3 rd November 2025, in the caption "for reporting compliance".
