O R D E R

The petitioner has come forward with this petition seeking for a direction to the respondent to register a case pertaining to the petitioner's complaint dated 18.02.2016. 2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner has lodged a complaint before the respondents on 18.02.2016. He further submitted that on receipt of the complaint, a case has been registered in Cr.No.27 of 2016 for the offence punishable under Section 354(A) and Section 4 of Tamil Nadu women Harassment Act before the respondent police.

3. At this juncture, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, on instructions, would submit that on the basis of the complaint given by the petitioner, petition enquiry in CSR.No.49 of 2016 is pending before the Valparai Police Station, Coimbatore District.

4.Considering the rival submissions made on both sides, on the basis of the complaint made by the petitioner, as petition enquiry in CSR.No.49 of 2016 is pending, the second respondent is directed to expedite the enquiry and follow the dictum laid down in Lalitha Kumari vs. Govt. of U.P & others [2013 (4) Crimes 243 (SC) and register a case, if any cognizable offence is made out.

5.The Superintendent of Police (Rural), Coimbatore District is directed to take action against the person who registered a case in Cr.No.27 of 2016 and report before this Court within a a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. The Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with the above direction.
