This Writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner for employment on compassionate grounds, and directing the respondent to issue a letter of appointment allowing the petitioner to be permanently employed with the respondent. O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner for employment on compassionate grounds, and directing the respondent to issue a letter of appointment allowing the petitioner to be permanently employed with the respondent.

2. When the matter was posted on 24.01.2020, there was no representation on behalf of the writ petitioner. Today also, none appeared on behalf of the writ petitioner.

3. The learned standing counsel appearing for the respondent submitted that the petitioner seeks employment on the compassionate ground and for the same, he made representation dated 12.12.2016to the respondent. The respondent rejected the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

representation of the petitioner vide letter dated 17.12.2016, stating that the scheme for the appointment on compassionate ground is not applicable to the dependent of the employee, who has deceased on or before 05.08.2014. But the petitioner instead of challenging the above said letter dated 17.12.2016, filed this writ petition for direction to the respondent to appoint him in the respondent bank, on compassionate ground, which is not maintainable. Therefore, he prayed for dismissal of the writ petition.

4. Accepting the submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondent, this court is not inclined to grand any relief to the writ petitioner. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. No costs.
