O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed by the petitioner to consider his representation dated 10.08.2023 and pass a speaking order within a time frame, enabling him to seek refund of his TDS amount of Rs.3,17,607/- deducted from the compensation amount granted for acquisition of his agricultural land for public purpose by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

2. Heard Mr.SP.Srinivasan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Gurunathan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.

3. While claiming compensation, the respondents have deducted a sum of Rs.3,17,607/- towards Tax Deducted at Source (TDS). When the petitioner has approached the respondents to provide the deduction particulars of the TDS for his income tax exemption, the respondents have not provided the same, which made the petitioner to approach this Court.

4. It is strange to note that the Government Officials are reluctant to innocent public even to provide the miniature information which shows that how the Government Offices are functioning. They are unnecessarily dragging the innocent public to approach this Court even for getting such informations. Since there is a dereliction of duty of the respondents, this Court directs the respondents to furnish the particulars to the Writ Petitioner as sought for by him in the Writ Petition, if he is otherwise eligible, within a week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
