The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 30.10.2023 pending on the file of the second respondent. The petitioner executed a settlement deed in favour of his grand father and registered the same as Doc.No.634 of 2014 on the file of the third respondent. Subsequently, the third respondent issued a notice calling upon the petitioner to pay the Deficit Stamp Duty as well as Deficit Registration Charges. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner preferred an appeal on the file of the second respondent on 30.10.2023 and the said appeal is pending on the file of the second respondent without any progress. Therefore, the petitioner is before this Court.

2. Mr.T.Chezhiyan, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3 would submit that the appeal pending on the file of the second respondent, will be considered and dispose of the appeal, within a time frame fixed by this Court.
3. In view of the same, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner on 30.10.2023 and pass final orders, on its own merits, within a period of 8 weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
