O R D E R
(Order of the Court was made by V.LAKSHMINARAYANAN, J.) Pursuant to the statutory notice issued by this Court on 29.05.2026, Ms.Greetha Senthilkumar, Secretary of The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry is present before this Court today. 2.On 14.05.2025, this Court had passed an order directing the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to decide on the revocation of suspension petition filed by the contempt petitioner, on merits, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of that order. On account of failure of the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to dispose of the said petition within the stipulated time, the present contempt petition has been initiated.
3.Today, when the matter was taken up for hearing, Mr.C.K.Chandrasekar, assisted by Ms.Greetha Senthilkumar, Secretary of The Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has produced an order dated 10.06.2026 of the Committee of Bar Council of India, onto whose file DCC.No.94 of 2022 stood transferred, as BCI Tr.Case No.169 of 2023. The Bar Council of India has come to a conclusion that the 2/4
complaint in BCI Tr.Case No.169 of 2023 (DCC No.94 of 2022) deserves to be dismissed, leaving it open to the complainant to work out his rights in O.S.No.254 of 2022 pending on the file of the Sub Court, Ponneri. Consequent to this dismissal, the interim order of suspension for which the revocation had been sought for has also been vacated. 4.Ms.Greetha Senthilkumar states that the order will be communicated to the contempt petitioner within a period of two (2) weeks from today. Her statement is recorded.
5.As the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry has complied with the order, albeit with some delay, we are not inclined to proceed further with this contempt petition.
