This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the FIR on the ground that the complaint against the in-laws has been falsely alleged.

2. However, the reading of the complaint, it appears that the defacto complaint loved the son of the petitioners and married him. It is a inter-caste marriage and due to that their marriage was not accepted by in-laws of the defacto complainant. As a result, it is now stated that across the bar, they are separated and divorce proceedings pending between them, since certain allegations are made against the petitioners attracting cognizable offence, the respondent police has to investigate the matter and arrive at conclusion based on the material collected during the course of investigation.

3. Since this Court has granted stay of filing final report, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police submits that the respondent has not completed the investigation. 2/4

4. In the said circumstances, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with direction to the respondent police to file final report within a period of two months with liberty to the petitioner herein to challenge the final report, if so advised.
