ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed by the petitioners to call for the records pertaining to Crime.No.847/2021 on the file of the respondent police and transfer the same to some other investigation agency.

2. Grievance of the petitioners is that based on his complaint, though case in Crime No.847 of 2021 has been registered on 06.10.2021, the main accused A1 is yet to be arrested. Hence the petitioners has filed this petition seeking transfer of investigation.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that more than 100 cares are involved in the forgery committed by the accused.

4. Learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent would submit that in this case, totally 76 cars are misappropriated. Out of which, 22 cars so far recovered. Six cars from A2 and A3 and other cars from the persons who had lent the cars. Remaining cars yet to be traced. He further submitted that A2 and A3 were arrested on 13.10.2021. A4 was arrested on 14.12.2021. As regards A1, four special teams formed and information received that A1 is now in Pune. Special Team sent to various parts of the country to secure A1. The respondent is taking effective steps to arrest the prime accused and to recover the cars soon.

5. Considering the submissions, it is seen that out of 76 cars, 22 cars so far recovered, four special teams already formed to secure A1 and other accused in this case, recently, A4 arrested. Investigation proceeding in the right direction.

6. In view of the same, this Court finds that no reason to transfer the investigation to any other agency. Since the offences are serious in nature and the number of cars involved in this case, guidance and coordination of Senior Police Officer is necessary. Hence, this Court directs the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Anna Nagar, Chennai to monitor the investigation periodically and ensure all the accused are arrested and remaining cars are recovered.

7. With the abovesaid direction, the Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
