ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction directing the respondents to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner seeking change of her name as Usha instead of Nazima in the petitioner's daughter's birth certificate dated 20.12.1999.
2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioner got married to one Mohamed Yusif and gave birth to two female children Binusha and Maullisha. Their births were duly registered by the authority concerned. In the first daughter's birth certificate, the nick name of the petitioner was recorded as Nazima instead of Usha. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation to the second respondent to change her name in the birth certificate of her elder daughter. The petitioner also produced legalheirship certificate of her deceased husband, in which her name in mentioned as Usha.
4. In view of the above, the second respondent is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner, after giving an opportunity of hearing to the petitioner, and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt
of a copy of this order.
5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
