ORDER
The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus to direct the respondent herein to settle 6 percentage interest for the belated settlement of difference in commutation amount to the petitioners herein by considering the representations of the petitioners dated 02.04.2025 and 27.06.2025 and pass orders accordingly.
2.The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners had retired on superannuation on 31.05.2016 and 31.12.2016 respectively and received difference in commutation of pension amount on 30.01.2021 without interest. In this connection, the petitioners have sent Joint representation dated 02.04.2025 and 27.06.2025 to the respondent seeking interest for the belated settlement of difference in commutation amount to the petitioners. However, there was no response for the same.
3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would fairly concede that in view of the similar orders passed by this Court in W.P.Nos 40031, 33742 and 35806 of 2024, they are willing to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for
the belated payment of the eligible and admissible amount.
4. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission of the learned Standing Counsel, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondent to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of retirement till the date of actual disbursal of the terminal benefits to the petitioner, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. In the result, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the above directions. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 01-08-2025 Index: Yes/No Speaking/Non-speaking order Lbm
