(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner's grievance is that her representation against the neighbour's unauthorised construction lodged on 17.09.2016 has remained unattended, even though the second respondent had issued online reply stating that the complaint would be attended to. One more case, where the authorities refused to act in time, causing docket of the Court to increase unnecessarily!

2. We direct the representation of the petitioner to be dealt with within five (5) days from today on inspection of the site and in case, unauthorised construction is found, to take action in accordance with law, after notice to all concerned.

3. We have earlier also expressed our anguish at representations not being attended to and the Court thus being converted as post office for a direction for the representation to be decided. It appears that our concern has not been seriously taken. We, thus, consider it appropriate to impose costs of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only) on the officer who was responsible to carry out the redressal and the same be deposited with the Mediation and Conciliation Centre, Madras High Court Campus by the Chennai Corporation within a week from today and be recovered from the delinquent officer.

4. The writ petition, accordingly, stands disposed of.

5. List the matter before the Master for compliance of the costs.
