O R D E R
This petition has been filed to direct the respondents police to register the case on a petitioner's complaint dated 27.11.2015 and to take necessary actions.
2. The petitioner has lodged a complaint with the 3rd respondent against one Saravanan and his wife for the committing the offence of cheating. It is stated in the petition that the said Saravanan and his wife stated that they are running a company in the name and style of "Prepare Publishers Pvt. Ltd." in Chennai and made the petitioner to invest some amount to become a share holder of the said company. But they https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
issued forged share certificates and when the petitioner went to see the company, he came to know that there was no such company functioning in the address given by Saravanan. Hence, the petitioner went to Saravanan's residence and demanded to return the money. Initially, he stated that he would return the amount, but later, he refused to return the amount and started threatening the petitioner. Therefore, the petitioner lodged a complaint with the respondent police for which, C.S.R.No.315 of 2015 has been assigned. Since no action has been taken till date, the present petition has been filed.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.
4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the 3rd respondent police to conduct an enquiry on the complaint dated 27.11.2015 (CSR No.315/2015) given by the petitioner and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, he is directed to proceed further in accordance with law, as early as possible.
5. This criminal original petition is disposed of accordingly.
