Respondent Prayer : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation dated 14.05.2024 for correction of Old S.No.619/5, New S.No.184/1A/2A it was wrongly mentioned in Patta No.186 instead New S.No.185/4 issued by the respondent in the Revenue Village of Kottucherry, Karaikal Taluk, Karaikal District, Puducherry in accordance with law within time frame.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.05.2024 for correction of patta entry, wherein Old S.No.619/5 corresponding to New S.No.184/1A/2A has been wrongly mentioned in Patta No.186, instead of the correct New S.No.185/4, pertaining to the property situated at Kottucherry Revenue Village, Karaikal Taluk, Puducherry.

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the representation submitted by the petitioner seeking correction of patta entry has not been considered by the respondent till date. Hence, the present writ petition.

3. The leaned Additional Government Pleader (Puducherr) appearing for the respondents submitted that the competent authority to consider the petitioner's request is the Settlement Officer.

4. In view of the above, the petitioner is at liberty to submit a fresh representation before the concerned Settlement Officer. On receipt of such representation, the Settlement Officer is directed to consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the representation.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
