By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
The writ petition is filed to direct the 4th respondent to issue Certificate of Indigency to the petitioner to facilitate compassionate appointment.
The case of the petitioner is that, he is the adopted son of one Mrs.Amirdham @ Amutha, who was working as Sweeper in the 3rd respondent's office. The said Amirdham @ Amutha, died on 25.06.2008, while she was in service. Subsequently, the petitioner has filed O.P.No.674 of 2021, before this Court, seeking succession certificate and the same was
allowed by an order dated 21.06.2022. Thereafter, the petitioner has sent application to the 2nd and 3rd respondents, seeking appointment on compassionate grounds. However, no action has been initiated till date. Meanwhile, the Assistant Executive Engineer addressed a letter dated 10.08.2024 to the 4th respondent herein, requesting issuance of Certificate of Indigency to consider the petitioner's application. However, the 4th respondent has not initiated any steps in this regard. Hence the petition. Learned Special Government Pleader for the 4th respondent would fairly submit that, the 4th respondent will consider the letter dated 10.08.2024, issued by the 3rd respondent on merits and in accordance with law within a reasonable time.

Heard the learned Counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the above submission of the learned Special Government Pleader, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the 4th respondent to conduct an enquiry in respect of the indigency of the petitioner and pass orders on it's own merits
and in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
In the result, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
