Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, pleased to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 2nd respondent to provide police protection for the celebration of "Janmasthami" festival scheduled to be celebrated on 07.09.2023 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.08.2023. This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondent police to consider the representation made by the petitioner wherein, the petitioner has sought for providing police protection to conduct the Janmashtami function to be on 07.09.2023. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor for respondents 1 & 2.
3.According to the petitioners, the respondent 3 to 10 are creating trouble and they are bent upon stopping the function to be held from 07.09.2023. This is clearly a private dispute between the parties and the police will not have any role to play. Hence, there is no question of directing the police to provide for police protection. If any law 2/4
and order problem is created, the police will get into the scene and take action in accordance with law.
