ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition is filed seeking to call for the records pertaining to the FIR in Crime No.451 of 2012 dated 29.03.2012 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Polur Police Station, Polur, Thiruvannamalai District and quash the same. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the first respondent State.

On the complaint given by Kumar that his daughter Poovarasi was kidnapped by Karthi and his friends, the first respondent police registered a case in Crime No.451 of 2012 on 29.03.2012 for an offence under Section 366-A, IPC, challenging which, the accused are before this Court for quashing the FIR on the ground that Karthi had got married to Poovarasi; that they have one child through the wedlock and that they have arrived at an amicable settlement.

Today, when the case was called, Karthi is present with Poovarasi and Poovarasi stated that they have got married and are living happily. The parents of Poovarasi are also present and they state that their daughter Poovarasi has married Karthi; that they are leading a happy life and that they have no objection in the FIR being quashed. A compromise memo is also filed by the parties to that effect. Mr.S.Ravi, Sub Inspector of Police, Polur Police Station, is present and he has identified the parties.

According to him, after the registration of FIR in 2012, the police have not done any investigation, since they came to know that Karthi has married Poovarasi.

In view of the above, the case in Crime No.451 of 2012 is hereby quashed and this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. Connected Crl.M.P. is closed.
