ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed to direct respondents to regularize the petitioner's service from the date of appointment and to grant all the consequential benefits accrued there from.

The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner was appointed in the 1st respondent's university as an Assistant Technical Officer in the year 2014 on consolidated pay and has completed 10 years of service, thereby becoming entitled to regularization. He would further submit that the petitioner was appointed under the land loser category, but the respondents have not regularized his service. He also drew the attention of this Court to the order passed in W.P.Nos.28127, 28839 & 28896 of 2023 dated 29.04.2025, wherein this Court considered the grievance of similarly placed persons and directed the respondents to regularize their appointments. In pursuance thereof, the petitioner sent a representation on 07.10.2024 and such representation is still pending.

At this juncture, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents would fairly submit that the petitioner does not fall under the land loser category, as the benefit was was extended to the petitioner's maternal grandmother and the petitioner's predecessors had not been chosen to join in service with the respondent's university for a period of 45 years. Therefore, according to the respondents, the petitioner cannot claim the benefit under the land loser category. However, the respondents will consider the petitioner's representation and pass final orders within reasonable time.

In view of the above submissions and without going into the merits of the writ petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation filed on 07.10.2024 and pass orders within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, based on its own merits and in accordance with law.

5. With the above directions, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
