The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 05.07.2023 for the offences punishable under Section 363, 342 I.P.C and Section 6 of POCSO Act, 2012 in Crime No.178 of 2018 on the file of the respondent, seeks bail.
2.It is the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioner that petitioner is accused in Spl.S.C.No.42 of 2023. Since, petitioner has not appeared before the trial Court on 22.03.2023, NBW was issued against him. He was arrested on NBW on 05.07.2023. Thus, he prays for grant of bail.
3. In response, learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry) submitted that petitioner has totally sixteen cases pending against him. Petitioner absconded from judicial custody. He apprehends that, if petitioner is released on bail and absconds subsequently, it will be difficult to conclude the trial. Thus, he opposed this petition.

4.Considered the rival submissions and perused the records. 5.Considering the submission of learned counsel appearing for parties, especially the learned Public Prosecutor (Puducherry), that petitioner has sixteen criminal cases pending against him and after issuing NBW, he was arrested and thus, trial in this case is to be completed soon, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. 6.Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 12.09.2023 ep
