The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 15.06.2025 in connection with Crime No.107 of 2025 registered for the offences punishable under Sections 115(2), 140(3), 191(2), 296(b), 351(2) of BNS, 2023 read with Section 4 of TN Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002 on the file of the respondent, seeks bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused had gone to the defacto complainant's house and demanded the loan taken by her husband and thereafter, they kidnapped her and attacked her and threatened her with dire consequences. Hence, the case.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent reiterated the prosecution case and opposed for grant of bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the gruesome act committed by the petitioner and others against the defacto complainant, this Court is not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner.
