By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The writ petition is filed to direct the first respondent to appoint the petitioner on compassionate grounds in any suitable post in Killai Town Panchayat or other suitable office under their control, in light of the death of the petitioner's father namely, Thiru. Natarajan (Sanitary Worker) on 22.01.2022, based on the representation dated 21.10.2024. The case of the petitioner is that, his father was working as Sanitary Worker in Killai Town Panchayat and unfortunately, he died on 22.01.2022, while he was in service. Therefore, the petitioner as a legal heir of his deceased father / Government employee, submitted a representation to

the respondents, seeking appointment on compassionate grounds, along with necessary documents and the same was considered and duly verified by the 3rd respondent, herein who in turn forwarded the same to the higher Authorities. However, till date no appointment order has been issued. Hence aggrieved by which, the petitioner has sent a representation to the 1st respondent dated 21.10.2024, seeking appointment on compassionate grounds and the same is pending.

Learned Additional Government Pleader for the respondents would submit that the petitioner was directed to submit certain documents and the petitioner had also submitted the same. In view thereof, the petitioner's representation will be considered on merits and in accordance with law within a stipulated time.

Heard the learned Counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.

In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court

deems it appropriate to direct the 1st respondent / District Collector to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.10.2024, and pass orders on it's own merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the result, the Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
