Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 19.07.2024 and take necessary action against the third respondent to recover petitioner amount of Rs.6,60,000/- (six lakhs sixty thousand only) with 9% interest.

ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for a direction, directing the first respondent to consider the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 19.07.2024.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials available on record.

3. The petitioner and her husband had deposited a sum of Rs.6,60,000/- with the third respondent as fixed deposit for the period of 37 months. After maturity, it will be returned with interest at the rate of 9% per annum. On deposit, the petitioner was issued 16 receipts. After maturity, the third respondent did not disburse the maturity amount as assured by them. Though the petitioner has made repeated requests to the third respondent, the third respondent failed to consider the same and did not refund the maturity amount with interest so far.

4. In view of the above, the second respondent is directed to

conduct enquiry on the representation submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders directing the third respondent to disburse the maturity amount with accrued interest, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
