ORDER
By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of mandamus, to direct the 3rd respondent herein to effect suitable corrections in the revenue records by deleting the classification of land as 'anathinam' land in respect of 20 cents of agricultural patta dry land comprised in survey No.462/6A3, situated at Kunnathur Village, Kunnathur Panchayat, Sholinnghur Taluk, Ranipet District and to issue new patta based on the petitioner's representation dated 25.03.2025.
3. At the outset, Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents would submit that it may be necessary for the petitioner to submit an application before the District Revenue Officer, who is the appropriate 2/5
authority to pass orders and if any such application is made, the same shall be considered and appropriate order would be passed by the respondents in accordance with law, after hearing the petitioners and any other interested parties within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, which was agreed to by the learned counsel for the petitioner.
4. In view of the above, this writ petition stands disposed of with the following directions;
i) It is open to the petitioner to submit an application before the District Revenue Officer, seeking to carryout necessary correction and issue new patta. ii) On such application, the 2nd respondent shall consider the application, after issuing notice and affording a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and all other interested parties including rival claimants, if any. iii) If any such application is submitted the same shall be disposed of within a period of eight weeks from the date of such submission. iv) Though facts have been set out in affidavit, in view of the limited relief that is sought to be granted, I do not propose to examine the same, lest it may influence the authority. The authority shall independently consider the facts and law set out in the representation and pass appropriate order in accordance with law including but not limited to the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Patta Pass 3/5
Book Act and Rules.
v) It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law.
