ORDER
The present writ petition has been filed with a prayer for mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to consider and pass orders on the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 27.12.2024, 03.03.2025 and 17.03.2025 within a stipulated time.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was serving in the capacity of Tahsildar. All of sudden, on 16.05.2024, he was demoted to the post of Deputy Tahsildar through a WhatsApp message, and now he had been serving in that position. It is the further submission that vacancies have now arisen in the post of Tahsildar. Hence, the petitioner submitted a representation on 17.03.2025, requesting consideration for promotion, and such representation is still pending before the 1st respondent.

At this juncture, the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents submits that, in accordance with the order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court and based on the petitioner's seniority, he was posted as Deputy Tahsildar. It is the further submission that, pursuant to the order passed in W.P.No.18074 of 2024 filed by the petitioner, the respondents considered his representation and passed order vide G.O. Ms. 2/5
No.14, dated 23.01.2025. Therefore, the learned Additional Government Pleader contends that unless the petitioner challenges the said Government Order, he cannot maintain the present writ petition.
4. I have given my anxious consideration to either side submissions and also perused the materials available on record.

While looking at the representation of the petitioner seeking promotion in the light of certain newly arisen vacancies in the Department, and considering the peculiar facts of the case, this Court, without going to the merits of the writ petition, deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioners above representation and pass orders, according to its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of twelve (12 ) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above observations, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
