Respondents Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to grant permission for keeping the Vinayagar Idol in Cheyyar Market and Electricity Lamppost, Cheyyar Town for conduct a Vinayagar Sadhurthi Festival from 07.09.2024 to 11.09.2024 for five days and taking out procession of idol for immersion through Tiruvathipuram Vedhapurishwarar Temple, Gandhi Road(Market), Old Kancheepuram Road to Konorayan Pond by considering the petitioner's 1/5

ORDER
The petitioner herein seeks direction to the respondents police, who grant permission for installing Vinayagar Idol and take procession in a particular route.
2.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) submitted that till last year the petitioner was taking out procession commencing from Tiruvathipuram Vedhapurishwarar Temple, Gandhi Road, turning towards Kaikara Street and Bungalow Street. This time they want to pass through Bathala Vinayagar Temple and proceed straight and cross big masque and turning at SBI junction. Since the said new route is sensitive in nature, the request not sofar been considered. If the petitioner confines their route from Sri Vedhapuriswarar Temple passing through Gandhi Road turning to Kasikara Street, Bungalow Street, Selva Vinayagar Koil Street towards Konariyan Kulam, NOC will be granted. Further more, the 2/5
festival shall be only for three days not for five days. 3.Considering the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate as well as the plea of the petitioner herein, Writ Petition is disposed of with the following direction: "The petitioner shall make a fresh application indicating their route as stated above (Sri Vedhapuriswarar Temple passing through Gandhi Road turning to Kasikara Street, Bungalow Street, Selva Vinayagar Koil Street towards Konariyan Kulam). The idol installation shall be on 7th September, 2024 and procession to be completed before Midnight of 9th September, 2024."
There shall be no order as to costs.
