The request of the petitioner to conduct Vinayagar Chaturthi festival by installing Idols at V.Kalathur and to take out procession on the evening of 08.09.2024 for immersion not been considered by the respondent police, hence the present Writ Petition is filed seeking Mandamus to consider the representation dated 23.08.2024.
2. A detailed counter been filed by the Inspector of Police, Mangalamedu Circle, Perambalur District stating reasons for not considering the representation dated 23.08.2024.
3. The Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) for the respondents submits that, if the petitioner make application to install the 2/5
idols at V.Kalathur Rayappa Swamy Temple instead of Vinayagar Temple, which is approximately 500 meters away from the proposed place and take the Idol through Rayappa Nagar, Thaikkal Junction, Indira Nagar, Ayan Peraiyar Road, Chennai-Trichy Bye-pass Road, for immersion, same will be positively considered.
4. Recording the same, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the petitioner herein to give representation for installing the Vinayagar Idol and take procession as stated above and on such representation, the respondent police shall issue permission and police protection.
