(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) This is a petition filed by the petitioner namely the Chief Secretary to Government of Tamil nadu - second respondent in the writ petition praying for dispensing with his personal appearance on 16.12.2021 as directed by this Court in the order dated 08.12.2021.

2. We have heard the learned Advocate General appearing on behalf of the petitioner herein as well as the writ petitioner.

3. It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner herein that in a batch of writ petitions pertaining to encroachments in the water bodies, an order was passed by this Court on 08.12.2021 directing the petitioner herein to appear before this Court on 16.12.2021, as, despite the order passed by this Court in January 2019 and thereafter

from time to time, compliance by producing details of the water bodies in various districts in the State of Tamil Nadu was not made.

4. It is submitted that the petitioner and officers herein were making necessary efforts to collect all the details, as required by this Court and were in the process of complying with the directions of this Court. The required data has now been collected. A compact disc (CD) containing all the details of the water bodies, their respective survey numbers and area, would be produced before this Court and otherwise details of the water bodies are hosted in the website. Accordingly, the prayer is made to dispense with his personal appearance on 16.12.2021.

5. Taking into consideration the submissions made by the learned Advocate General, since the details of all the water bodies are now hosted in the website to indicate not only the water bodies, but also their respective survey numbers and even the area, we dispense with the personal appearance of the petitioner herein on 16.12.2021 and this petition is ordered. The CD containing the details

of water bodies shall be produced before this Court on 16.12.2021 when the batch of writ petitions pertaining to encroachments in the water bodies are coming up for consideration. (M.N.B., ACJ) (P.D.A., J.) 15.12.2021 RS
