ORDER

This Criminal Original petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police to register a case based on petitioner's complaint dated 25.08.2015.

2. Heard Mr.V.Murugesan, the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.C.Emalias, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. It is stated that the petitioner's marriage with one Senthil Kumar was solemnized on 12.12.2010. During the course of their wedlock, she gave birth to two female children. Thereafter, a difference of opinion was developed between her and her husband. According to petitioner, her husband alongwith his family members demanded a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- alongwith 25 sovereign gold ornaments. Though, a complaint was received, no case was registered and no action has been taken by the respondent Police.

4. Under such circumstances, Mr.C.Emalias, learned Additional Public Prosecutor has submitted that the complaint was forwarded to the District Welfare Officer to inquire into https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the matter and submit a report. But so far, no report has been received from the Concerned Officer and only for that reason that complaint was not able to be registered.

5. This Court has perused the averments placed on record.

6. This Court is of the view that it does not require any report from the District Welfare Officer, as the petitioner has stated that her husband's brother one Lakshmipathi had been misbehaving with her, and made Sexual advances.

In view of the above fact, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent Police to register a case and investigate the same, provided any prima facie case is made out, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
