By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 1/4
2. The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to dispose petitioner's representation dated 30.06.2025 and to survey the property comprised in Survey No.188/7 and to grant assignment patta in favour of petitioner.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for petitioner that petitioner submitted a representation before the respondent on 30.06.2025 seeking survey and issuance of assignment patta in respect of the property comprised in Survey No.188/7, measuring an extent of 35 cents situated at Peelamedu Village, Vanapuram Taluk, Kallakurichi District and that petitioner has also paid appropriate fee, however, the same has not been considered by the respondents till date. Hence this writ petition.

At the outset, it is submitted by Mr.R.P.Murugan Raja, learned Government Advocate for respondent that the prayer has two parts viz., issuance of assignment patta in favour of petitioner and secondly survey of subject property. He would submit that petitioner has been in possession of pattai poramboke land for several decades. Insofar as the first part of the prayer is concerned, learned Government Advocate would submit that the request for issuance of assignment patta would be considered by the appropriate respondent, orders would be passed after issuing notice and after affording reasonable 2/4
opportunity of hearing to the petitioner and other interested parties, keeping in view the relevant Government orders including G.O.Ms.No.97, Revenue and Disaster Management Department dated 21.02.2025. Learned Government Advocate would further submit that with regard to second part of the prayer viz., request for surveying the subject property is concerned, the same would be considered depending on the outcome of the representation for issuance of assignment patta i.e., if the assignment patta is issued, they would proceed to consider the petitioner's request for survey of the subject property. Agreed to by the learned counsel for petitioner.
5. Recording the same, writ petition stands disposed of. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law. No costs.
