These petitions have been filed seeking to condone the delay in filing the above appeals.

2. The reasons assigned in the petitions are that only in EP, they came to know about the enhancement of compensation. Thereafter, after obtaining the legal opinion from the Government Pleader, petitions have been filed on 13.03.2024 and copies were made ready on 07.06.2024, hence, there was delay.

3. Despite the names being printed in the cause-list, none appeared for the respondents.

4. Though the reasons assigned is not satisfactorily explained and casually made, the learned Special Government Pleader has brought to the notice of this Court that in a similar case, a Division Bench of this Court in A.S.Nos.577 of 2007 etc., batch cases vide judgment dated 03.12.2009 after deduction has already fixed the compensation @ Rs.2200 per cent with 30% solatium. https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
