Earlier, this Court by an order dated 30.06.2022 dismissed the above Criminal Original Petition and directed the respondents police to file a report within a period of three months from the date of that order. Since the report was not filed within the time stipulated by this court, the petitioners police 1 to 3 herein sought for extension of time.

2. Today, when the matter taken up for hearing, learned counsel for petitioners police 1 to 3 appeared and submitted that in order to ascertain some crucial facts, the investigation officer has to verify the revenue records, deeds and also to examine further witnesses to establish previous status of disputed property as well as to examine government officials. Hence, the investigation could not be completed within a stipulated time. Therefore, he prayed to extend the time granted by this court.

3. The learned counsel for respondent appeared and raised objections stating that already time granted by this court is lapsed, even then, so far, the report was not filed. Hence, he prayed to dismiss this petition.

4. Considering the request made by the petitioners police 1 to 3 herein and in order to give one more opportunity, this Court is inclined to extend time finally for the period of three months to submit a report from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
