Respondent PRAYER: Petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to constitute an expert emergency life saving committee headed by the Chief Secretary to Government of Tamil Nadu, and consisting of specialist doctors from Government Hospitals Tamil Nadu, one member from Judiciary and two close associates of Hon'ble Chief Minister with the mandate of: (i) to assess and monitor the line of treatment given by Apollo Hospital to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu - Ms.J.Jayalalitha; and (ii) to decide whether the Chief Minister - Ms.J.Jayalalitha requires emergency better medical treatment abroad.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner, who happens to be a MBBS Graduate, seeks to intervene and determine how Selvi J.Jayalalitha, Hon'ble Chief Minister, who is undergoing treatment in Apollo Hospital, should be treated.

2. It is her view that there should be a Committee appointed to look into her medical health and the Court should monitor it.

3. We completely fail to understand the intervention sought to be made by the petitioner in the matter of this nature and it is for the concerned people to determine the nature of treatment. It is one more publicity interest litigation.

The petition is dismissed. No costs.
