The petitioner, who was arrested and remanded to judicial custody on 19.04.2025, for the alleged offence punishable under Section 8(c), 20(b)(ii) (C) of NDPS Act, 1985 in Crime No.69 of 2025, on the file of the respondent police, seeks bail.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent reported that, though the respondent District falls within the jurisdiction of this Court, the trial of the NDPS case will be held at Special Court at Thanjavur. It is submitted that the respondent has filed the reports and other proceedings only before the said Special Court. This Court is therefore of the view that the petitioner ought to approach the appropriate forum, as the earlier bail order was also passed by the Special Court, Thanjavur, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Madurai Bench of this Court. Hence, this petition is disposed of, with liberty to the petitioner to challenge the same before the Madurai Bench.
