ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking for the issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents 1 to 4 to consider the petitioners representations dated 16.08.2018 and 28.09.2022 and thereby direct the 4th respondent to rectify the patta No.474 and include the name of the petitioner in patta No.474 and issue joint patta in respect of the property situated in survey No.477/1 Velam Village Sholinghur Taluk Ranipet District pursuant to the proceedings of the 3rd respondent in O.Mu.B6/7382/2018 dated 24.10.2018 within a stipulated period of time.

The petitioner made a representations on 16.08.2018 and 28.09.2022 with a request to rectify the patta No.474 and include the name of the petitioner in patta No.474 and issue joint patta in respect of the property situated in survey No.477/1 Velam Village Sholinghur Taluk Ranipet District pursuant to the proceedings of the 3rd respondent in O.Mu.B6/7382/2018 dated 24.10.2018, which is pending without consideration.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that this Court may 2/4

issue a direction to the fourth respondent under Section 10 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983 seeking to modification of entries in the patta passbook within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court.

4. It is to be noted that Section 10 of the Tamil Nadu Patta Passbook Act, 1983 contemplates that the Tahsildar is the competent authority to modify the entries in the patta pass book. Therefore, Considering the facts and circumstances of this case, this Court, without going into the merits of this case, directs the fourth respondent to consider the representations dated 16.08.2018 and 28.09.2022 on merits and in accordance with law, after providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioner as well as any interested parties, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order.

5. In view of the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
