This Court, on 25.10.2024, disposed the Criminal Original Petition No.26609 of 2024, with a direction that the respondent police shall complete the investigation within a period of three months and file final report. Since the final report not filed within the time prescribed, the above contempt petition is filed to take action against the respondent for not filing the final report in time.

2. The Learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent respondent has filed counter-affidavit stating that there was delay in completing the investigation and therefore, final report could not be filed within the time prescribed. However, after re-examination of the defacto complainant and other witnesses, final report filed before the Judicial Magistrate-I, Poonamallee, on 04.09.2025 and same taken on file as C.C.No.290 of 2025 on 26.09.2025 and the case has been posted for completion of service on 04.11.2025.

3. In view of the above facts, as narrated in the affidavit of the respondent, this Contempt Petition is closed. 26.09.2025 bsm 2/4
