ORDER
[Made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to produce the petitioner's wife viz., S.Jayashree, aged about 30 years, before this Court and hand over to the petitioner.

It is the case of the petitioner that he got married to Jayashree on 04.09.2009 and they were blessed with three children. It is the further case of the petitioner that his wife went missing from 11.11.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that earlier the petitioner's wife Jayashree went missing on 20.09.2020, in connection with which, on a complaint given by the petitioner to the Inspector of Police, Selaiyur Police Station, Jayashree was secured on 22.09.2020 and handed over to the petitioner. He further submitted that again Jayashree went missing from 11.11.2021, in connection with which, on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Selaiyur Police Station Crime No.596 of 2021 has been registered on 16.11.2021 for 'woman missing' and investigation is in progress.
In such view of the matter, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Selaiyur Sub-Division, to supervise the investigation in Selaiyur Police Station Crime No.596 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when Jayashree, aged about 30 years, is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Tambaram, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law.
