PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents not to open a new TASMAC Shop at Konnur Highway, Ayanavaram, Chennai-600 023 which is very close to the other TASMAC Liquor Shop Nos.317 and TASMAC Liquor Shop No.324 at Konnur Highway, Ayanavaram, Chennai-600 023 based on the petitioner's representation dated 03.07.2025 and consequently to direct the respondents to ensure strictly not to open any new TASMAC Shops in the State.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) At the outset, learned State counsel, upon instructions, would submit that the proposal to open a new TASMAC Shop has not been accepted by the Police Administration.

2. Placing on record the said statement, in our view, this petition now need not be kept pending.
