ORDER
This application has been filed under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seeking extension of time for the arbitrator to pronounce the arbitral award by a further period of six months.
2. The learned counsel, who has entered appearance on behalf of the respondent would submit that since the pleadings are completed, the request made by the applicant for granting extension for a further period of six months is on the higher side. According to her, three months Page No.1 of 3
extension can be granted for the arbitral Tribunal to pronounce the arbitral award, since the pleadings are completed.
3. This Court, after giving due consideration to the submissions made by the respective counsels as well as to the fact that the pleadings are completed in the arbitration, is inclined to grant extension of time for the arbitral Tribunal to pronounce the arbitral award by a period of four months instead of six months sought for in this application. Accordingly, this application is disposed of by granting extension of time for the arbitral Tribunal to pronounce the arbitral award for a period of four months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 14.08.2025 sp Page No.2 of 3
