Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the second respondent to dispose the petitioner's appeal dated 28.11.2023 and 08.02.2024 within a stipulated time which may be fixed by this Court.

O R D E R

The petitioner herein seeks a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 08.02.2024 filed by the petitioner challenging the order passed by the fourth respondent, within a stipulated time fixed by this Court.

2. By consent of both the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner as well as respondents 1 to 6, this writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage itself.

According to the petitioner, he filed a petition before the fourth respondent seeking cancellation of patta issued in favour of the respondents 7 to 9 and the same was rejected by an order dated 30.10.2023. Aggrieved by the same, the petitioner filed an appeal before the second respondent on 08.02.2024 and the same is pending without any progress. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents 1 to 6 would submit that the appeal of the petitioner will be considered on its own merits and appropriate orders will be passed.

5. In view of the above submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the second respondent to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner dated 08.02.2024 and pass final orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording reasonable opportunity to the petitioner as well as the respondents 7 to 9 and any other interested parties, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
