ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's Application Number : TR2066668112124 dated 20.06.2024 to issue passport without any delay.

2. Mr.L.S.M.Hasan Fizal, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the 1st respondent, Mr.C.Kulanthaivel, learned counsel, accepts notice on behalf of the 2nd respondent and Mr.L.Baskaran, learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), accepts notice on behalf of the 3rd respondent. In view of the consent expressed by the learned counsel for the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. Page No.2 of 6

3. The case of the petitioner is that, he is studying B.Sc.(Hons) Agriculture in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University at Trichirapalli. He applied for a fresh passport at Trichy Regional Passport Office Application Number : TR2066668112124 dated 20.06.2024. The 2nd respondent vide letter dated 01.08.2024, it is stated that an FIR in Crime No.126 of 2022 u/s 143, 188 and 341 IPC was pending against the petitioner. Therefore, he appeared before the 2nd respondent and submitted his explanation letter on 19.08.2024 to accept his explanation and issue passport to him without any delay. Since there is no response from the respondents, the petitioner has filed the above writ petition before this court for appropriate orders.

Though very many grounds have been raised in this writ petition, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, it would suffice, if this Court, issues a direction to the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's application vide Application No.TR2066668112124 dated 20.06.2024 and issue the passport, within a time frame that may be fixed by this Court.

Considering the limited request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's passport application No. TR2066668112124 dated 20.06.2024 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
