ORDER

The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the offences punishable under Section 4 (1) (C) and 4 (1) (A) of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, in Crime No.118 of 2025, on the file of the respondent Police, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.The case of the prosecution is that, the petitioner was found in illegal possession of 50

bottles of Black Breal Brandy of 180ml each. Hence, the case. Dr.G. JAYACHANDRAN, J.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person who has been falsely implicated in this case by the respondent Police. He also submits that the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is not required. Hence, prays for grant of bail to the anticipatory petitioner.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Criminal side) appearing for the respondent Police reiterated the prosecution case and submitted that the investigation has not yet been completed. He further submitted that the petitioner has two previous cases. Hence, strongly opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner. 5.Heard the learned counsels on either side and perused the records. 6.Considering the nature of the offence, the fact that the investigation is still pending, the existence of two previous cases against the petitioner and since the custodial interrogation of the petitioner is very much required, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 18-08-2025 ep
