ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 2nd and 3rd respondents to ensure safety and security for smooth functioning of the temple festival at Arulmigu Sri Mariamman Temple at Arasampattu Village, Sankarapuram Taluk, Kallkurichi District in line with the proceedings of the 1st respondent dated 13.06.2025.
3/6 2.The specific case of the petitioner is that a few people have formed a syndicate and in the name of a community, they are interfering in conducting the festival of the temple. Hence, representation was given to the 1st respondent. The 1st respondent through communication dated 13.06.2025, directed the Revenue Divisional Officer viz., the 2nd respondent to ensure that the temple festival is conducted in a smooth manner by affording necessary protection from the police. Since the same was not acted upon, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.
3.This Court directed the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of respondents to take instructions. Accordingly, the 3rd respondent has given written instructions. It has been stated that necessary police protection has been sought for from the 4th respondent and all steps will be taken to ensure that the festival is conducted in a smooth manner and everyone will be permitted to participate in the festival.
4/6 4.In view of the above, it is made clear that respondents 2 to 4 will ensure that the festival is conducted in a smooth manner without giving rise to any law and order problem and that everyone will be allowed to participate in the festival.
5.This writ petition is disposed of with the above directions. No Costs. 30-07-2025 Note:Issue Order Copy on 30.07.2025.
