ORDER
This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to deal with the representation made by the petitioner on 18.06.2025, wherein, the petitioner is seeking for issuance of legal heirship certificate pursuant to the demise of Munusamy Pillai and to enter the names of his grand children in the legal heirship certificate 2.Heard Mr.B.Vinoth Kumar, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner and Mr.G.Velu, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing on behalf of the respondents.
3/6 3.The case of the petitioner is that she was married to one Purushothaman. The said Purushothaman is the younger son of one Munusamy Pillai. Out of the wedlock, the petitioner gave birth to a boy and a girl in the year 2015 and 2018 respectively. The petitioner's husband died on 03.12.2019. The petitioner's mother in law died in the year 2017. The said Munusamy Pillai died on 05.11.2023. The specific case of the petitioner is that the only legal heirs who were left behind are the children of the petitioner who are the grand children of the said Munusamy Pillai. The petitioner attempted to submit an online application, but the portal does not have an option for the daughter in law to submit an application. Therefore, the petitioner made a representation to the respondents seeking for legal heirship certificate.
Since the same was not acted upon, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court. 4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the materials placed before this Court, there shall be a direction to the respondents to act upon the representation made by the petitioner on 18.06.
4/6 and issue the legal heirship certificate, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order.
