ORDER
(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.S.Esakkimuthu, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.P.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, for respondents 1 to 5.
2. The learned State Government Pleader, on the instructions of Tahsildar, submits that action was already taken by the fourth respondent to evict the encroachments in the streets of Jagadab Village. Due to Covid 19 and elections
to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, further course of action could not be undertaken. The matter is now under the active consideration of the fourth respondent. The fourth respondent has proposed to measure all the streets and lanes in Jagadab Village and if any encroachment is found, the same would be removed as per the provisions of the Tamil Nadu Land Encroachment Act, 1905. The entire exercise would be completed in three months' time.
3. In view of the said statement made by the fourth respondent, the writ petition stands disposed of. There will be no order as to costs.
4. WMP No.33859 of 2023 filed to permit the petitioners to file a single writ petition is allowed.
