ORDER

This writ petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 20.10.2016 and consequently direct the respondent to take action in accordance with law.

2. By his representation, dated 20.10.2016, the petitioner has requested the respondent to consider the demographic status and to retain the panchayat for general category contestants. His representation was given with respect to the local body elections, which was scheduled to take place then. Due to passage of time, the local body elections have been conducted in December 2019. Therefore, this Court is of the considered view that the object of the prayer sought for in this writ petition has now become infructuous. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. No costs.
