PRAYER: The writ petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the Respondents to disburse the amount for 90 days and 240 days of private affairs leave encashment together interest @ of 12% p.a. for the delayed period till the date of payment within the stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court. ORDER
By consent of both the learned counsel for the parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal, at the admission stage itself.

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus directing the Respondents to disburse the amount for 90 days and 240 days of private affairs leave encashment together interest at the rate of 12% per annum for the delayed period till the date of payment within the stipulated time as may be fixed by this Court.
3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.
4. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that he retired on 31.10.2013 as a Special Grade Technician (Lab) from the respondent/Department. He would further submit that the respondents failed to disburse the amount for encashment of 90 days and 240 days of private affairs leave, together with interest at the rate of 12% per annum for the delayed period. In this connection, the petitioner has given a representation dated 24.04.2025, and such representation is pending with the second and third respondents.
5. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the respondents would fairly submit that they will consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time.
6. In view of the above submission, without going into the merits of this Writ Petition, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 24.04.2025, and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that the amount should carry 6% interest per annum from the date on which the amount became due and payable, till the date of disbursement.
