ORDER

The writ petition is filed for a mandamus directing the second respondent police authorities to provide adequate protection to the petitioner and to safeguard his life, limb and property from respondents 3 to 6.

2. Upon hearing the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner, it is alleged that respondents 3 to 6 are interfering with the petitioner's possession and enjoyment of his lawful property, over which they have no legal right, title, or interest.

3. In such cases, the respondent police cannot directly afford police protection. It is open to the petitioner to approach the competent civil forum, and as and when any interim injunction/order/final decree is passed, the respondent police shall provide protection in terms of the Civil Court order. Therefore, keeping open the liberty of the petitioner to approach the appropriate Civil Court and in the event of obtaining any ad interim/interim order or decree, the respondent police shall act as per the Civil Court order and grant protection to the petitioner upon his request.

4. In view thereof, the writ petition Criminal stands disposed of. 2/4
