PRAYER: Contempt Petition filed under Section 11 of Contempt of Court Act, to punish the respondent herein for wilful disobedience of the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.6043 of 2023 dated 28.02.2023 as per the contempt of Court Act.

ORDER

The contempt petition has been filed seeking to punish the respondent for having committed contempt of Court by disobeying the order passed by this Court in W.P.No.6043 of 2023 dated 28.02.2023. 1/4

2. The order of this Court was to pay interest on the belated payment of terminal benefits.

3. Today, when the matter was called, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent submitted that interest has been paid on various dates between 23.05.2017 to 18.04.2023.

4. In case the petitioner is of the view that interest amount has not been fully paid, liberty is granted to the petitioner to make appropriate representation before the respondent which shall be considered within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of such representation.

5. In view of the payment reported to have been paid, the disobedience alleged may not be termed to be willful in nature. Accordingly, the contempt petition stands closed. 17.11.2023 Index:Yes/No Internet:Yes/No gpa 2/4
