The present criminal original petition has been filed to direct the first respondent police to register the First Information Report on the basis of a complaint dated 19.10.2015 kept pending in CSR No.31/SPG/SB/2015 pending on the file of the respondent police and to investigate in to the matter in accordance with law.

2. The petitioner has lodged a complaint as against one Sathish, who is working as Programme Associate in the petitioner's Foundation on the allegation of misappropriation and cheating to the tune of Rs.1,08,00,000/-. Though the said complaint was lodged on 19.10.2015, no action was taken on the complaint till date. Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present criminal original petition.

3. I have heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the amount involved in this case is more than Rs.1 crore 80 lakhs and that the complaint of the petitioner was forwarded to the Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Vellore on 30.12.2015.

5. In view of the submissions made on either side, this Court directs the Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Vellore to conduct enquiry and upon enquiry, if materials are gathered indicating commission of any cognizable offence, to proceed further in accordance with law.
