ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to complete the investigation in Crime No.01/2020 and file the final report, within a stipulated time prescribed by this Court. 1/4

2. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is working as an Assistant Agricultural Officer, Ellapuram Block, Thiruvallur District and a case in Crime No.1 of 2020 was registered against 13 persons by the District Crime Branch on 14.09.2020. Though the petitioner's name was not found in the FIR, he was arrested and consequently, he was suspended from service by the department. He further submitted that, there is no progress in the investigation till date and due to the pendency of the criminal case, the petitioner has been under prolonged suspension. Hence, the present petition.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondent would submit that based on the complaint lodged by the District Crime Branch, police has registered the FIR in Crime No.1/2020 against the petitioner, in which the investigation is under progress. Hence he seeks three months time to file a final report before the Jurisdictional Magistrate Court.

4. Recording the same, the respondent police is directed to file final report before the Jurisdictional Magistrate Court, within a period of three 2/4

months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order under due intimation to the defacto complainant.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
